Gov. Bill Ritter orders flags to half-staff to remember fallen Ault firefighter and others
May 9, 2008 CommentsPrintEmail Gov. Bill Ritter has ordered flags be lowered to half-staff Saturday to remember firefighters who have died this year and whose names will be added to the Colorado Fallen Firefighters Foundation annual memorial service.
One of the four firefighters whose name will be added to the memorial is Capt. Shane Stewart of the Ault-Pierce Fire Protection District who died in late February while responding to an emergency call.
Ritter also directed that people lower flags to half-staff Friday in Colorado Springs and statewide Monday and Tuesday next week for other memorials and observances.
