Tribune comes in handy in bad economy
The way the economy is going, we're in dire straits, so I've stopped buying toilet paper and I'm using The Tribune. I rest my case.

Republicans need to get their hands dirty
Somebody needs to tell the Republicans that were complaining about the immigrants taking their jobs that it's time to get their hind ends to work.

Shouldn't the president speak English?
Attention, all Bush fans. Today your president was on my TV, and he said things like "clean, safe nucUler power." Now, isn't the president supposed to speak English? Isn't it pronounced "nuclear," not "nuculer"? He also referred to "multi-millionaire farmers" in his speech, and couldn't even read it without p-sp-st-stuttering.

Will we hear from you on this, Sen. Salazar?
Sen. Salazar wants Rush Limbaugh reprimanded, saying his remarks about possible riots at the Democratic National Convention as being incendiary. I wonder what his reaction will be about the Rev. Al Sharpton's promise to shut down New York City because Sharpton disagrees with the justice system's acquittal of three New York detectives? Incendiary? Should he reprimanded? Will we hear from you, Sen. Salazar?

Registration fee unfair; charge commuters
A fee of $75 a year on older cars is wrong and unfair. Most people owning older cars are lower-income people who would be paying a disproportionate amount toward roads and bridges. Most only drive 4,000 miles annually to and from work. It should be based on the fuel tax. That way the people who choose to commute 100 miles daily 25,000 miles per year will be paying their proper share.
