Letters to Editor May 6, 2008 CommentsPrintEmail Helping ministry needs our help
I have had occasion to meet Justin Davenport and am familiar with his ministry "Loved Ones Against Meth." This young man and his wife are really being led by the Lord in a commitment to this type of outreach and ministry, for the benefit of many in our community who have been introduced to and are plagued by a very addictive substance called methamphetamine.
We personally have had experience with this kind of addictive tragedy through a relative we have tried to help.
Justin's plans are to open a men's transitional house to help young men get untangled from this addictive nightmare. I know that they are in need of financial support to get this very worthwhile program off the ground and to maintain this ministry.
If you are so inclined, please call him and offer your financial support. God will bless you for that.
Justin can be reached at (970) 545-1641. Please call him and offer your support; he would be pleased to give you a personal tour of the facility.
Dr. Roy Friesen, Greeley
Mining will never be safe
Don't you just suppose that if the in-situ mining were 100 percent safe, Powertech would mine 100 percent of their uranium needs in Canada? Mining of this sort will never be proven safe.
Remember, "accidents don't happen until they happen." One would keep the mind-set of "solving the problem before it becomes a problem." Last but not least, one has to be very absentminded to put the "economy over the environment." We have no other place to go! "Wake up!" Please support Water Bill 1161.
