University of Northern Colorado club to hold entrepreneurship forum

The University of Northern Colorado Entrepreneurship Club will offer residents and students a chance to learn from successful business owners and managers next week.

The Innovative Voices Forum will take place at noon Wednesday at UNC's University Center in Columbine Room B, at the corner of 10th Avenue and 20th Street.

Four speakers will address topics such as starting your own business, the challenges women entrepreneurs face and the current work place environment. A question-and-answer session will follow the speeches.

This is the first year the club has offered this event. Six students from the Entrepreneurship Club and UNC management professor David Thomas worked to organize the event.

Club member Kyle Barnolt, a UNC senior, said he decided to work on organizing the event because he can learn from what the speakers have to say.

"I've just been interested, personally, in starting my own business," he said.

Barnolt said he has thought about opening and advertising agency or a restaurant.

Speakers at the event will include: Angie Noe with Red Roaster Cafe, Lori Gama of DaGama Web Studios, Steve Byers of Energy Logic and Katie Wallace from New Belgium Brewing Company.
